5 Reasons Why Liverpool MUST Sign Christian Benteke
3. Transfer Fee
After the Delph almost joined City for a ludicrously low £8 million fee, Villa fans will at least be glad to see a lump of money coming there way if the Liverpool transfer does go through. £32 million sounds like a lot of money, but if you look at the fees spent on other recent transfers it's to be expected. Balotelli, who struggled on Merseyside last season, cost Liverpool £16 million. Charlie Austin is being linked with moves of around £15 million and he's had only one season in the Premier League. With three seasons of goal-scoring double figures under his belt it's no surprise Villa have stood firm on a £32 million deal. Now that Liverpool have money in the bank after Sterling's departure it would be sensible to spend it on Benteke who, as we'll see on the next page, could easily be one of the best attacking options at the club.
