Manchester City paid a hefty £50 million for Tottenham Hotspur's right back in 2017. The fee made Walker the most expensive defender ever, and far and away the most pricey right back.
Walker was a massive upgrade over the 34 year-old Bacary Sagna, and he helped Manchester City to the summit of the Premier League. Walker was arguably City's best defender last year, and is one of the best right backs in world football. The fee was big, but Walker is paying it back and he's only 27, meaning he will have another 5-6 years to recuperate the money.
