Formula 1 2013 Monaco Grand Prix – Rosberg Reigns In Principality

Looking Ahead Two weeks now separate Formula 1 from its next destination in Canada for the race in Montreal, which is always a thriller. There€™s rarely a dull race on the green, high-speed street circuit, and with high tyre degradation we could be in for a very volatile and changing race. It€™s packed with high-speed corners, overtaking opportunities, fast straights and unpredictable weather conditions, whilst the Wall of Champions beckons for any that dare push a little too hard through the final chicane. DRS will have a significant effect at Canada as it has the last two years, allowing overtaking it abundance down the final straight and up to the first corner, offering a stark contrast to Monaco. Pirelli will also be introducing their new compounds of tyre for the Canadian Grand Prix, and those adjusted tyres combined with a fast, flowing track might well create some interesting strategies down the field. On top of that, the €œtest-gate€ scandal will roll on, and a lot more should be known come the race, continuing to focus the sport thoroughly on tyres above all else. For the next race, Ferrari and Lotus will be looking to get back on form after a poor weekend for both of them, and Mercedes will look to build on their dominating pace from this weekend, especially with potentially more durable tyres. Red Bull will want to maintain their seemingly bulletproof form of reliable points results that is keeping them at the head of both championships. Other teams such as Force India or Torro Rosso, with good horsepower and top speed, will be targeting potential gains on the fast circuit, and just about anything can happen. As one of Formula 1€™s most exciting venues, Canada could be another classic that turns things around once more.
