Fulham Transfer News: Adel Taarabt Undergoes Medical At Craven Cottage
Fulham manager Martin Jol has confirmed that Adel Taarabt is to move to Craven Cottage on a season-long loan deal from neighbours Queens Park Rangers, according to BBC Sport. The 24-year old Morocco international was reportedly desperate to stay in the Premier League, and he was due to complete a medical this morning in London. Taarabt has made 150 league appearances for the Loftus Road outfit since joining in Spring of 2009 on loan, including 31 Premier League starts last season, which yielded 5 goals for the popular midfielder. He was named "Player of the Year" for the Championship in 2010-11 when they secured promotion, and this signing reunites him with Jol, who obtained Taarabt for Tottenham Hotspur from Lens as an 18-year-old. Jol will be hoping to secure the services of a few more players by the end of the week, with want-away Villa striker Darren Bent hotly tipped to become the Cottagers big signing of 2013. Taarabt joins Fernando Amorebieta, Derek Boateng and Maarten Stekelenburg as Fulham boss Martin Jol's big new recruits so far this summer. The London club are now under new ownership from Shahid Khan after he purchased the club from long-time owner Mohamed Al-Fayed last month.
