Ibrahimovic Or Ronaldo: Which Superstar Won't Be At Next Year's World Cup?

Who Should Be In Brazil

Ibrahimovi‡ will be desperate to play in Brazil as he looks to feature in his third World Cup. But the 32 year old is aware it might be his last chance to score on the biggest stage. The striker was a bit part player at his first World Cup in 2002 when Senegal sent Sweden packing in the round of 16 but was back again to lead the line in 2006. Sweden was again knocked out in the round of 16 this time by Germany, and again Zlatan failed to trouble the scorers. With Sweden failing to qualify for the 2010 World Cup Ibrahimovi‡ has had to wait a long time for a chance at redemption. He knows goals against Portugal in the play-off could provide him with another opportunity to break his World Cup drought. Ronaldo's enjoyed more success than Ibrahimovi‡ at World Cups having scored in both the 2006 and 2010 finals. He's also gone deeper in the tournament than Zlatan, with Portugal making the Semis in 2006 before eventually finishing fourth after losing to Germany in the third place play-off. Ronaldo's burning ambition and strong self-belief is likely to have him believing Portugal can not only qualify for the World Cup but also go on to win it. Time will tell but Portugal has proven in the past it can match it with the best in the world.
