JC loves a fight, just ask Craig Bellamy and numerous managers from Premier League history about his antics... So this made Carver's revelations about how he planned to have his players deal with the week in the build up to the West Ham game by staying off social media, not watching football and watching wrestling instead not at all surprising. The Head Coach said:
We have to win the game. If we win, we take care of our own business. Winning is our only thought. Ive told the players to keep playing and watch wrestling or something but not football. This is not about me now, its about this football club and staying in the Premier League."
Seen as though the team didn't look remotely capable of winning a football match at the time, the squad would have been forgiven for sitting themselves in front of a television with a bag of popcorn for the Arsenal vs. Sunderland game on the Wednesday before the season's close. Thankfully, they finally got a grip and won a game, meaning they didn't have to rely on other teams after all. Maybe Carver IS a genius...
