At the time of his passing, Kobe had achieved something that has eluded most athletes: a place on The Times' Best Sellers list.

Kobe's first book - "Mamba Mentality: How I Play The Game" - was his first foray into being an author and immediately scaled the ranks, illuminating yet another talent in his arsenal. He took his experience and his zest for storytelling to produce an insight into his process, his preparation and subsequently his application surrounding the game of basketball.

The book reveals his famously detailed approach, the rigorous mental and physical preparation, and outlines his disciplined regime to sustain his body throughout his career. It was an eye-opening experience for those unaware of the sheer granular detail he explored when studying an opponent, looking for any advantage possible.

Readers were also treated to personal accounts of some of his most intense playoff match-ups, his one-on-one duels and some of his favourite moments.

This was followed up by his "Wizenard Series", the first of which rocketed to the number 1 spot on the best sellers list. A tremendous achievement, and one that cemented his place is a budding storyteller.
