Liverpool Transfers: 10 Game-Changing Players Rodgers Must Sign In January

7. Michael Dawson

Michael Dawson Seemingly unwanted by the Spurs management, Michael Dawson could be a really cheap option for a team who lack a consistent centre back. With Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger often plagued by injuries, Jamie Carragher not getting any younger and Sebastian Coates looking like a liability with every game he plays, Dawson could be a really useful addition to Liverpool's backline. New Tottenham manager Andre Villas Boas was pretty desperate to offload Dawson to QPR for some unknown reason as he sticks with William Gallas in defence for some mysterious reason. Dawson's move fell through but he could easily be transferred in January and he would probably love some game time as he's hardly had a sniff this season at White Hart Lane. Brendan Rodgers likes to play English players so Dawson could really fit the bill and would come at a reasonable price. Dawson would be an ideal signing for most teams needing a strong defender with a solid amount of pace and a serious ability to read the game well. Centre back probably isn't an area Liverpool should be totally desperate to strengthen especially since the emergence of youngster Andre Wisdom who looks like a real prospect.
