Just when it appeared that Jese was on the path to world-class status as a footballer, he suffered a devastating cruciate ligament injury that kept him sidelined for the best part of nine months last year.

This is obviously the main concern, given the troubles The Reds have had with star-man Daniel Sturridge, but if the young Spaniard can stay fit, there is no denying that he could become one of the stars of the Premier League.

Of course, chances are limited for Madrid academy products to make a name for themselves in the first team, and Jese is faced with competition from no other than Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Isco and Karim Benzema - and is understandably fighting a losing battle.

Madrid would prefer to see their mega-money signings flourish - and their loss could prove to be Liverpool€™s gain. Jese can play anywhere across the front, and possesses a deadly shot from either foot and a frightening turn of pace to go with his incredible technical ability, which he has demonstrated frequently during his time with Madrid.

Jese needs a club to give him the game time, and he would instantly become one of Liverpool's best players should the Merseyside club target him this summer.
