Liverpool Transfers: 11 Essential Signings To Win The League Next Year

11. Michel Vorm

Current Club: Swansea City Last summer was not as impressive a transfer window as some pundits might suggest for Liverpool, and even the most eye-catching capture - that of Belgian stopper Simon Mignolet from Sunderland - was not a faultless decision considering how many times the 'keeper has looked shaky this year. At 26 he is still young for a goalkeeper and his ability will only grow as he heads into his peak years, but Liverpool cannot rely on back-up option Brad Jones if Mignolet endures a run of poor form. Pepe Reina will return to Anfield - perhaps briefly - in the summer from Napoli, but since Rodgers has already ruled the Spaniard surplus to requirements once, it seems that the link to Swansea 'keeper Michel Vorm might just have legs. The 30 year old Dutch player has been linked with a £7million move from Wales and he would bring Premier League experience as well as commanding attributes and eye-catching shot-stopping skills for the fee. Quite what that would mean for Simon Mignolet remains to be seen, but the rumours are persistent and the player good enough to replace the occasionally error-prone Belgian straight away.
