3. Henrikh Mkhitaryan
This Armenian international and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder has been on Brendan Rodgers wish list all summer and, according to what publication you subscribe to, he has either been signed or signed pending a medical. However, according to current club Shakhtar no formal move has been made for the 24 year-old by Liverpool but it has been reported that the Armenian has yet to report for pre-season training, which suggests he may be still on the market. If so, he would be a massive signing for all concerned at Liverpool and has all the attributes that would allow him to develop into a high quality box-to-box midfielder. The classy Armenian scored an impressive 25 goals in 28 appearances last term for the Ukrainian champions as Shakhtar went on to dominate another domestic season. Some may doubt the quality of player he comes against in a lower league, but he was instrumental in Shakhtar's European campaign featuring in all eight of his clubs appearance in the competition. According to
Caught Offside, negotiations with the player
has stalled temporarily, but at an asking price of around £20million Liverpool and Rodgers intend to pursue as they see a man worthy of first learning from, and then, replacing Stevie G.
