After a pretty disappointing season and a half for the Spanish super-club, including a 7 month lay-off thanks to an anterior cruciate ligament injury, Dutchman Afellay is set to be keen to move on from Barcelona and rebuild his club reputation elsewhere. Barcelona seem similarly motivated, and will reportedly accept as little as £7m or so for the former PSV winger. The Dutch international winger is set for talks with new Barce boss Tito Vilanova to try and sort out his future at the Nou Camp, but reports are already circulating that Brendan Rodgers will be among the managers interested in offering Afellay a way out this summer. For that effort, whichever manager is successful in convincing him to join their side will get a pacey, committed attacking midfielder who can play either in the middle or on either flank, and who isn't afraid to try shots from in and around the box.
