3. Suarez's value to his team
A player is largely only important if his contribution to his team is truly valuable. It seems a silly thing to say, but impressive individual performance doesn't always make a real difference to the team as a whole. For example, a striker can have a very impressive game to goal ratio, but typically only score goals to add gloss to victories rather than being goals that put them in a winning position in the first place. Some people may have doubted the player's real value to Liverpool after Daniel Sturridge appeared to be deputising so well for the player at the end of last season and the start of this one. However, with the English striker getting injured when he did, the return of Suarez to the team can at just the right time. The Uruguayan player has actually scored 43% of Liverpool's team league goals this season, which is the best contribution in the league. It should also be noted that the partnership between Sturridge and Suarez has the potential to be the best in the league, and that is very good news for Liverpool fans.
