Man City: A Tale Of Two City's

The opening two games of this Premier League season have been polar opposites for Manchester City. A resounding victory over Newcastle at home was followed up with a somewhat underwhelming defeat at newly-promoted Cardiff the week after, and although they enjoyed the mammoth's share of possession in both encounters, the similarities ended there. Obviously, patience is a virtue as the title challengers adapt to life under new manager, Manuel Pellegrini and as it is still very early on in the Chilean's reign, such inconsistencies and slip-ups can be rendered as mere 'teething problems' at this stage. However, it was interesting to see the drastic change in less than a week, from a team which had pundits salivating at the attacking exhibition on show, to one which appeared to have completely run out of ideas in the final third.
