Man City Transfer News: Juventus Agree £12 Million Deal For Carlos Tevez

BBC. City accepted an offer of an initial £10 million which could then raise to £12 million with add-ons. The Argentinian is expected in Italy later today and will undergo a medical before discussing personal terms over a three-year contract with the Turin based club. The 29-year-old is into the final year of his contract at the Etihad and City could save up to £27 million by cashing in when the fee of wages and bonuses owed to Tevez is taken into account. The two clubs reached agreement over the deal yesterday and the move is expected to be formalised later this afternoon barring no unexpected delays. Tevez' stay in England has been a controversial one. He moved in 2006 to West Ham United from Corinthians along with compatriot Javier Mascherano and immediately concerns were raised over his third-party ownership and the legitimacy of the deal. Indeed, the striker's representative Kia Joorabchian has shadowed him for much of his career and would prove to be a key figure in the player's next two moves. The Argentine international left West Ham after just a year to move to Manchester United, where he won two Premier League titles and the Champions League, before moving to their local rivals City in 2009. He made 148 appearances for the club, scoring 74 goals, but his relationship with ex-manager Roberto Mancini soured in 2011 when he was fined and suspended following an incident in a Champions League match against Bayern Munich. City must now look for a replacement with Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko the only remaining senior strikers at the club, but the deposed champions say they will not pay Napoli striker Edinson Cavani's £53 million release clause.
