Man Utd: 5 Key Areas Where They Need To Improve

It is clear that Manchester United are not the battering ram of old. They have slipped down the table, been thrown out of the cups and have players not playing, but tagging along for the ride, which is going downhill - and fast. It is key for their revival that they have to improve in five key areas, on and off the pitch. Here is my list of areas where Manchester United need to beef up, bring back or face the death penalty.

5. The Managerial Situation

There is no doubt in my mind that David Moyes is drowning in his own vision. He was brought in to succeed after the shock of Sir Alex Ferguson leaving. It was never going to be an easy job taking over from a man, considered a legend, master and hero of the game. He won titles after titles and Ferguson needed somebody to continue his success. But Ferguson brought him in to do exactly that - repeat the success that we have all come used to at Old Trafford over the years. However, it is clear now that, after nine months, that Moyes is not up to the task. He is constantly in the cold shadow of Ferguson, surrounded by a club too big for him - too big for anyone other than the man himself. He has had much time to gel his team, build his own team rather than one Ferguson built. He needs to knock the rusty ol' cabin down and build from the bottom. Maybe he can be a success, but the Ferguson foundations he currently relies on are creaking under the weight of its own potential and history. Sack him or not (though I do not think they will), Moyes clearly needs to make drastic measures to keep sustaining the success we have all come used to at United.
