Man Utd: 5 Stars Who Should Play Every Week (But Who Moyes Is Shamelessly Overlooking)

2. Shinji Kagawa

Many fans have bemoaned the perceived lack of creativity in the middle of the park this season, with United failing in their pursuits over the summer to land the likes of Cesc Fabregas. However, the Red Devils have had a creative midfielder warming their benches all this time without even realising it - Shinji Kagawa. The Japan international has only played one full game all season - against Stoke last weekend - and astonishingly wasn't even named as a substitute for last night's Capital One Cup clash. Surely it is games such as these that Kagawa should be notching up first team appearances if he is deemed unworthy of a spot in the XI for Premier League encounters, but apparently not. It's easy to feel sorry for the 24-year-old and you have to wonder what more he needs to do to get in this side if he's not even getting League Cup action. Kagawa was one of the brightest stars in Borussia Dortmund's back-to-back Bundesliga-winning campaigns between 2010-12, netting 17 goals in his final season at the Westfalenstadion. Yet he is not being given a fair chance to emulate that form at United under David Moyes, which is perplexing considering the likes of Anderson and Cleverley have made more appearances.
