Signed from Athletic Bilbao for £28.5 million, big things are expected of the 24-year-old, who United came close to signing last summer before being foiled by dodgy lawyers. It remains to be seen how he will fit in at the club. Capable of playing in the No.10 role, Herrera's versatility means he can operate in a number of midfield roles. It is likely he will play in a deep midfield position initially, where he played to such aplomb with Athletic. I expect he will sit just in front of defence alongside another holding-midfielder, like Michael Carrick or perhaps another new signing.
