Man Utd Next Manager: 8 Candidates To Replace David Moyes

4. Diego Simeone (Current Odds: 16/1)

Chances of him taking the job: Silm-to-moderate. Chances of it being offered: Moderate. Since taking over at Atletico Madrid- a club for whom he spent two spells as a player- in 2011, Simeone has been a revelation in the managing world. Having earned his stripes as a coach in his home country of Argentina, following his retirement from playing in 2006, Simeone quickly rose through the ranks as a manager, having stints at River Plate, Catania, Racing Club amongst others, before Atletico saw a prodigy in the making and snapped him up. At a ripe 43 years of age (in managerial terms) and on the verge of potentially taking his upstart Atletico side to a Spanish League Title and a Champion's League Final, in spite of the might of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, Simeone looks a superstar manager in the making and would be well suited as a long-term investment for a top club. Whilst Simeone would certainly be tempted by the prestige and the honour of a Manchester United, I tend to think him keeping his tent pegs wedged in home soil for the time being. Simeone's accomplishments at Atletico and his renowned loyalty towards them look set to keep him there at least for the time being. It has long been reputed Simeone's love for the Spanish culture which places him as a firm outsider in my book.
