Man Utd Transfer News: Angelo Henriquez Completes Move
Angelo Henriquez has joined Manchester United from Universidad de Chile.
Angelo Henriquez has joined Manchester United from Universidad de Chile, becoming manager Sir Alex Ferguson's fourth summer signing, according to Goal.com. The 18-year-old is due to sign for a reported £3.5million after undergoing a medical at Old Trafford. The veteran manager has already added Shinji Kagawa, Robin van Persie and Nick Powell to his ranks, and whilst the former two are expected to make immediate starts for the Red Devil's as the new season gets underway this weekend, the young Chilean is likely to find himself joining the latter on loan, with a temporary move back to Universidad potentially on the cards. His former club said in a statement:
"Angelo Henriquez will join Manchester United this month. The player is physically and mentally prepared to take this determining step in his career.President Jose Yuraszcek added:
"Manchester United's representatives told us that it was fundamental for them to take him now.The teenager, who has represented his national side at Under 15, Under 17, Under 20 and Under 23 level, confirmed the move earlier in the week, describing it as "a dream".
"I am coming to stay at Manchester United and I'm going to play to obtain that objective. They are giving me this opportunity and I can't let it go, it is something that I have searched for my whole life. It's a dream I have always had and I can't afford to not want to be here. "Everything is spectacular here in Manchester. For me it is all a dream. Imagine it, just to be able to play and share a dressing room with people like Wayne Rooney. It's a dream."What Culture! reported yesterday that the signing was close, and Ferguson may not be finished yet in the transfer market. He recently suggested on the club's official website that there could still be one more big signing to come before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.
