Man Utd Transfer News: Asmir Begovic Would Cost £15 Million

Mirror. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly hunting for a replacement for incumbent No.1 David de Gea at Old Trafford and has targeted the Bosnian as his number one target. But he will have to shell out £15 million in the summer if he wants to land his man. Ferguson has already paid out a similarly large sum of money on a goalkeeper when he signed de Gea from Atletico Madrid for £18 million and he will have to make another large investment if he wants to replace him. Stoke turned down a £12 million bid for the shot-stopper from Chelsea a year ago and the keeper's market value has soared since then after a number of impressive performances. Tony Pulis has already signed young goalkeeper Jack Butland from Birmingham City who will arrive at the Britannia in the summer, which has prompted speculation over the future of Begovic, but sources claim there is no deal in place for their current No. 1 to leave. Ferguson has grown impatient with de Gea in recent times and has lined up a series of other potential replacements, such as Liverpool's Pepe Reina, Barcelona's Victor Valdes, Real Madrid's Iker Casillas and Sunderland's Simon Mignolet.
