Man Utd Transfer News: David Moyes Insists Wayne Rooney Is Not For Sale

Premier League rivals Chelsea have already had only bid for the England international rejected this week while manager Jose Mourinho has claimed the 27-year-old is the Blues' sole transfer target. Arsenal are also interested in the ex-Everton forward, who is said to have been left feeling "angry and confused" by his treatment at Old Trafford. However, Moyes said of the issue at a press conference in Sydney: "The club's position has not changed." Rooney was at United's training ground complex on Thursday for ongoing treatment on him hamstring injury, which forced him out of the club's pre-season tour of Asia and Australia. The champions are currently in Australia preparing for tomorrow's friendly against the A-League All Stars in Sydney. While United continue to insist Rooney isn't for sale, they have yet to strengthen the squad this summer. The Red Devils have seen bids for Everton defender Leighton Baines and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas rejected by their respective clubs, but Moyes is hoping for some positive news in the near future. The Scotsman said:

"As far as players we are looking to bring in are concerned, we are working hard to do that. "We are trying very hard to make some additions. Hopefully there will be some good news in the not too distant future."
United's vice-chairman Ed Woodward has left United's pre-season tour to continue negotiations for Fabregas.
