Man Utd Transfer News: "Disrespectful" Pogba Joins Juventus

Former Le Havre midfielder joins Italian giants, and infuriates Sir Alex in the process

Team Talk, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson subsequently blasted the French teenager for a lack of respect Manchester United had considered the 19-year-old who was signed from Le Havre in 2009 to be one of their Academy's outstanding talents to emerge in the past few years, but the move to Juventus has apparently been on the cards for a long time, as the player rejected offers of a new contract to keep him at Old Trafford, and the link appeared consistently towards the end of the season. Ferguson had apparently hoped that he had convinced Pogba to stay with an improved offer, which included the promise of first-team opportunities, but it seems the player would not change his mind, as Sir Alex confirmed to MUTV, confirming the deal:

"Pogba signed for Juventus a long time ago as far as we're aware."
Sir Alex also confirmed his disappointment in how things had progressed, and with the player himself. The questions concerning his attitude also mirror similar accusations levelled at former United prodigy Ravel Morrison in the run up to his departure for West Ham in the January transfer window.
"(It) is disappointing. I don't think he showed us any respect at all so, to be honest. I'm quite happy that if they carry on that way, they're probably better doing it away from us."
Pogba leaves the club having made just seven first-team appearances for United from the bench - three of which came in the Premier League, three in the Carling Cup, and the final one in the Europa League defeat to Athletic Bilbao. Meanwhile, Ferguson confirmed that the future of another highly-rated Academy graduate - Ezekiel Fryers - remains uncertain, with a new contract on the table, but no contact from Fryers himself: "We haven't heard anything from Zeki Fryers. I don't know what's happening there but he's not been in touch with the club. His agent hasn't been in touch with the club and I can only assume he'll be back for training." Will Pogba be a success at Juventus? Will United miss him? Let us know your thoughts below.
