Man Utd Transfer News: €40m Khedira Bid Rejected

BBC's Spanish football writer Andy West, as well as Guillem Balague from Sky Sports, United have made a massive bid for Real Madrid's German international midfielder Samir Khedira. West has reported that Spanish radio station Cadena Cope are claiming that Manchester United have made a bid of ‚40m for Khedira and that the bid was rejected by Real Madrid. Guillem Balague spoke to Sky Sports News on air to suggest that the deal would not go through, as Real Madrid asked manager Carlo Ancelotti about the player, and were told that the manager wanted to keep hold of the player beyond the transfer window, scuppering any hopes United had of buying him. West also spoke about the potential deal for Ander Herrera, suggesting that the deal might be held up by tax payments that would be triggered if United meet the ‚36m buy-out clause for the Athletic Bilbao midfielder. That deal could go through, with Balague suggesting that it could actually go as long as midnight, beyond the end of the transfer window. Meanwhile, Sky Sports also say that Marouane Fellaini has officially entered a transfer request in an attempt to force through a move to United before 11pm.
