Man Utd Transfer News: Javier Hernandez Sale Ruled Out

Telegraph. The Mexican has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford since the signing of Robin van Persie last summer and has found it difficult to compete with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck. However, the man known affectionately by fans as "Chicharito" has scored 16 times this season, with those goals coming from just 28 matches. That's an impressive record considering he has been used primarily from the bench this term, and Ferguson is unwilling to sell up this summer. The veteran manager said:

€œI€™ve said to him it€™s not easy to keep leaving him out because a 16-goal tally in the number of games he€™s started is a brilliant record. €œAnd he€™ll always have that because he€™s fantastic in the box. €œBut it€™s difficult when you€™re up against a player of Robin van Persie€™s form, then you€™ve got Welbeck, Rooney, (Shinji) Kagawa €“ that€™s the benefit of having a strong squad. "It€™s given us an advantage. We are working with 26 first-team players €“ probably the biggest in the league.€
Real Madrid are among several leading European clubs to have shown an interest in the star recently, but Ferguson believes "Little Pea" still has something unique to offer the run-away Premier League leaders.
€œHe does something every game; he changes it. He does something different to the other strikers.€
Ferguson also confirmed he would start against Chelsea in the FA Cup replay on Easter Monday, having rested him for yesterday's 1-0 away win over Sunderland. Hernandez has virtually played himself into that squad having scored twice for Mexico midweek and has a fantastic goalscoring record against Rafael Benitez' Blues, with six strikes in seven games including the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
