Juan Mata is expected to undergo a medical at Manchester United today before completing his £37 million move from Chelsea, according to the Metro. United zeroed in on Mata this week after Blues boss Jose Mourinho told the midfielder he does not have a future at Stamford Bridge. And despite Chelsea being initially hesitant in selling to a domestic rival, the 25-year-old is understood to have forced the move through. Red Devil's manager David Moyes has agreed to double Mata's current £70,000-a-week salary to £140,000, and the Spain international's father, Juan Snr. is in England to complete the deal. All that remains is for Mata to undergo a medical at United, which is set to take place at some point today at Manchesters Bridgewater Hospital. The deal will give suffering United fans a massive boost as their season took a turn for the worse with defeat against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup semi-finals last night. The defending Premier League champions were knocked out following a bizarre penalty shootout that finished 2-1 to the Black Cats after a succession of wild misses from both sides. United will likely finish the campaign empty handed, however Mata is expected to rejuvenate Moyes's side and help them push for a top four place.
