Man Utd Transfer News: Juan Mata To Undergo Red Devils Medical

Juan Mata is expected to arrive at Manchester United on Friday to undergo a medical and complete personal terms on his £37 million move from Chelsea, according to the BBC. United have had a club-transfer-record offer accepted by the Blues for the Spanish midfielder who is set to sign a four-and-a-half year deal at Old Trafford. The 25-year-old is due to fly by helicopter to Manchester before sealing his switch to the Premier League champions following a difficult spell at Stamford Bridge. Mata has struggled to hold down a regular starting place in Blues boss Jose Mourinho's side with the self-styled 'Special One' preferring instead Oscar and Eden Hazard. The attacking midfielder, who made 135 appearances for Chelsea, said goodbye to his teammates and staff at the club's Cobham training ground on Wednesday. United continue to deny having made a bid for the playmaker though it is understood they have made an offer through intermediaries working with their blessing on the deal. Manager David Moyes refused to answer questions on Mata during his post-match press conference on Wednesday night following his side's defeat to Sunderland in the League Cup. It was expected Mata would undergo his medical on Thursday however the move was held up by Chelsea so they could complete the signing of Basel's Mohamed Salah, say the Daily Star. Salah is set to join the west Londoners from the Swiss club in an £11 million deal.
