Man Utd Transfer News: Neymar £38 Million Deadline Day Offer

Manchester United failed with a sensational £38 million bid on transfer deadline day for Brazilian superstar Neymar.

The Sun. They claim that The Red Devils made the blockbuster, club record offer on Friday but the Santos forward turned down United's overtures as he wants to stay in Brazil until after the 2014 World Cup tournament in his home country. 20-year-old Neymar is the second Brazilian youngster that Man Unitd boss Sir Alex Ferguson has chased this summer. According to the Telegraph, attempts were made at Old Trafford to sign 19-year-old Lucas Moura, but the Sao Paulo ace eventually moved to mega-rich Parisian club Paris Saint-Germain for £38 million. That is the same amount that The Sun claim United had offered for Neymar. He hit 113 goals in 190 games for Santos, and also notched up three goals at the Olympics before Brazil lost in the final to Mexico. The Sun claim Real Madrid and Barcelona also have interest in signing him. Had Neymar joined United, it would have meant the Red Devils had Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Javi Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and then Neymar vying for places up front.
