Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils To Make January Bid For Ilkay Gundogan?

However, United are also looking to strengthen in the middle of the park, despite having already brought in Marouane Fellaini for £27.5 million on transfer deadline day. The Red Devil's interest in Gundogan dates back to 2011, with the 22-year-old even stating at the time that United were his "dream club". Instead, however, Dortmund snapped him up from FC Nuremburg for £4 million. Since then, Gundogan has won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and DFL-Supercup with the German outfit and a series of fine performances have seen his market value rocket to £30 million. The starlet has only played one game for Dortmund this season however after sustaining a back injury while on international duty. Gundogan could even be sidelined until January, at which point United may weigh up the possibility of making a move when the winter transfer window opens. Dortmund are currently in talks with the midfielder and are trying to tie him down to a new contract, but the player was coy when pressed on his future. He has been quoted as saying recently:
