Man Utd Transfer News: Wesley Sneijder Back On Red Devils Radar, Moyes May Miss Out On Gundogan

Premier League champions Manchester United are weighing up whether to revive their interest in long-term target Wesley Sneijder.

Reports in the Guardian say Red Devils manager David Moyes is thinking of turning to the Dutch playmaker, 29, to solve his midfield creativity woes. Sneijder is understood to have a £13 million release clause in his contract at Galatasaray €“ a fee which United could be willing to meet in January.

Sneijder, a Champions League winner with Inter Milan and World Cup finalist in 2010, came close to signing for the Red Devils two years ago. The deal fell through, however, because of contractual issues. He is under contract with Galatasaray until 2016.

In other United transfer news, the Daily Mail claims Barcelona have stolen a march on other top European clubs in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund holding midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

The 23-year-old is also a target for Premier League leaders Arsenal, Moyes and Barca's El Clasico rivals Real Madrid. Germany international Gundogan earned rave reviews as Dortmund made it to the Champions League final last season.

His father is said to have met with Barcelona board members, leaving the Catalan club in pole position for his services. Gundogan's deal at Dortmund ends in 2015.
