Persistent rumours that PSG are going to have to offload one or two of their players this summer in order to satisfy UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules have put just about all of their rivals on high alert.

While superstar attackers Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are likely off limits, Manchester United could do much worse than look to snag nimble midfielder Marco Verratti, who has been on the naughty step in the French capital after flirting with Barca last summer.

A classic Italian regista by trade, Verratti would arguably be the perfect foil for Paul Pogba, taking care of the deep-lying playmaking duties and, in turn, allowing his teammate to join in with attacks in the final third.

His relative lack of physical stature - the 25-year-old is roughly a third of the size of Nemanja Matic - may alarm scouts in the contact-heavy Premier League, but the examples of David Silva and Santi Cazorla show us that this needn't be a long-term problem.
