Man Utd Transfers: 10 Signings To Ensure Premier League Glory

9. Blaise Matuidi

French midfielder Matuidi would be a perfect addition to a Manchester United team that is often lacking in midfield energy. The Paris Saint-Germain player is an energetic ball-winning midfielder who would add something to most teams in the world, especially a team like Utd who lack a presence in the middle of the park. Whereas Matuidi is capable of doing a box-to-box job, he€™s best when sat in front of a backline and asked to just be a pest, much like a Javier Mascherano or a Nigel De Jong. He€™s not quite as brutal or to the point as those two, and Matuidi is far better on the ball than both. If Matuidi were to make the jump to Old Trafford, his inclusion in the middle of the park would allow the likes of Michael Carrick, Wayne Rooney (if a midfield role is indeed his future) or even Ander Herrera to act as a playmaker for the team and give them some more freedom. What lets Matuidi down in one regard is his stature, measuring in at just 5€™9€. Still, his all-action style would be a huge bonus for a Utd team that is often lacking in pace, energy and urgency in recent months.
