Man Utd Transfers: 10 Signings To Ensure Premier League Glory

7. Serge Aurier

Much like the problematic centre-half and midfield positions for Manchester United, the team is crying out for a good right-back. Bar the urge to stick Chris Smalling or Phil Jones at right-back, the preferred option for Van Gaal this season seems to be the injury-prone Rafael or shoehorning winger Antonio Valencia into the position. Van Gaal has publicly addressed that he needs to look seriously at bringing in a right-back this summer, with Seamus Coleman often talked about as a transfer target. But the answer could be over the channel and playing in Ligue 1. After a mightily impressive season at Toulouse, Serge Aurier joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer. The deal is initially a loan move, although there is the option for a permanent move included in the contract. Aurier, 22, is a powerful full-back who is more than capable of doing a job both defensively and going forward. He€™s also a younger option than other potential candidates like 26-year-old Coleman or the possible free transfer arrival of 31-year-old Dani Alves from Barcelona. The biggest stickler in any move for Ivorian Aurier would be that a deal in principal seems agreed for him to make a permanent transfer to PSG come the summer.
