5. Ezequiel Garay
One of the first areas of the pitch David Moyes should target for improvement ahead of next season is at centre back. With Rio Ferdinand turning 35 in November and Nemanja Vidic no longer guaranteed to last a whole season without an injury setback, the Reds need to bring in a new centre half. Benfica's Ezequiel Garay has been tracked by the champions with the Daily Express going as far as to claim a deal for the star had
already been completed back in March. If said claims are accurate, United would be strengthening arguably one of the weakest areas of the squad. Last season, Ferguson's side
looked rather fallible at the back and leaked 28 goals in their opening 19 Premier League games - an average of 1.47 goals per match. The procurement of a new centre back, particularly one of the ilk of Garay, would go a long way to ensuring United's back four put in a more stable performance next season.
