One option David Moyes has if he finds signing Leighton Baines to be impossible is Philipp Lahm of Bayern Munich. Lahm has just captained Bayern to the most successful season in their history, winning the Bundesliga by
record point margins, the DFB-Pokal and, to top all that off, the Champions League. United's interest in Lahm is a long-standing one. The Premier League champions went in for the right-back
in 2010 but the move failed to come to fruition and instead they stuck with Patrice Evra. Though Lahm is now 29, he is still considered one of the best right-backs in football. He is right-footed but can play on both sides of the pitch, and is well known for his pace, dribbling and precise tackling abilities. He has also been named in the World Cup team of the tournament in each of the last two tournaments. A move may be unlikely given he is the captain at Bayern and his age may be a concern but as an alternative for Leighton Baines there are only a few better options...
