Man Utd Transfers: 5 Reasons Why Koke Should Have Been Moyes' Number One Target

The news that reported Manchester United target Koke recently signed a new contract is certainly a bitter blow for David Moyes€™ pursuit of the player. However, we know that contracts for footballers means very little with player power being particularly high these days. As we know, if a player fancies a move then he usually gets it. What this new contract does mean is that Man Utd will now need to push the boat out in order to get their man. Previously, the Atletico Madrid midfielder was said to have a ‚24m release clause, which will have allowed the Premier League champions to have sealed a deal for around £20m. However, a key reason to get that contract signed was to increase that release clause, which now stands at ‚60m, which would mean that Moyes would have to pay in the region of £50m to get his man. Watching the Red Devils this season it€™s clear that something fairly drastic needs to be done to turn their current season around, and for the sake of the future of the club. The purpose of this slideshow is to take a closer look at Koke, and describe the reasons why the club should continue their pursuit of the player. The new contract will make things more difficult, but there is a strong argument why United should push the boat out for the Spaniard. As always, I will state my case using opinion and stats from Who Scored. So, let€™s get started and see what we can dig up on Koke€
