Man Utd Transfers: 7 Midfielders Fergie Must Sign

8. Yohan Cabaye

Current club: Newcastle United One of the stand-out signings of last season, thanks to the astute eye of Newcastle's Chief Scout Graham Carr, Cabaye joined the Magpies from French champions Lille on a ridiculously cheap deal thanks to a clause in his contract, and his desire to test himself in the Premier League. Cabaye is a genuine playmaker, who judges the success of his performances by how many touches of the ball he manages, and how many yards he covers on the pitch. Combining that passion and determination with a dazzling array of passes, and an eye for a spectacular shot, he would be a crowning addition to any top four midfield, and if Newcastle can continue his development from last year, he will make them a force once again. He wouldn't come cheap by any means, with Alan Pardew confirming that no player will be allowed to leave the club without an astronomical "Andy Carroll-style" bid, but the French international has his best years ahead of him, and he showed at Euro 2012 that he can compete with the biggest talents quite easily. And if Sir Alex needs a reminder of how good the Frenchman is...? http://youtu.be/PrHmlBEkerQ Pick that out.
