That David Moyes attempted to sign two new left-backs in Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao over the summer is indicative of his lack of faith in Patrice Evra. The veteran Frenchman has been a loyal servant to United down the years but at 32 has become a liability - his positioning is questionable and against Newcastle he was badly as fault as he was caught in possession by Moussa Sissoko in the build up to Yohan Cabaye's clincher. Reports continue to link Evra with a move back to his former club Monaco, whom he left before signing for United back in 2006. And that transfer is likely to happen either in January or over the summer at the latest - depending on United's successes when they go back in for Baines and Coentrao in the New Year.
