3. Danny Welbeck v Fabio Coentrao

One of the best performances in the first leg for Manchester United was Danny Welbeck. His pace and hardworking attitude caused a lot of problems for Madrid and he picked up a vital goal. More of the same in this leg could tilt the match in Manchester Uniteds favour. Due to the form of Van Persie, Welbecks season has been stop start and he has managed just two goals all season. However, his presence on the right wing rather than up front could be huge. Welbeck is willing to run all night for the cause and if he is allowed space in and around the defence he could have a huge impact. He will more than likely be up against Fabio Coentrao, with Marcelo only just back from injury Mourinho is much more likely to go with the Portuguese international. Coentrao is probably better known for his ability going forward than his defending but will have to be on top of his game to keep Welbeck quiet. The thing working in his favour though is his huge amounts of pace. Welbecks main threat will come due to his industry and pace so if Coentrao concentrates on his defensive game he may have a chance of keeping Welbeck quiet. If Coentrao allows himself to get distracted and get dragged out of position in to the attacking third it could spell big trouble for Madrid. Big gaps could open up down that side and that could let Welbeck in to cause all sorts of havoc for Madrid.
