Man Utd Vs West Ham: 5 Reasons Why It's Must Win For David Moyes

5. To Avoid More Unwanted Statistics

Manchester United were used to making history for all the right reasons under Sir Alex Ferguson €“ first British side to win the Treble of the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup; first English team to win the European Cup and most successful club team in England with 20 league titles €“ United are history makers. But they made history for all the wrong reasons under David Moyes earlier this month, when they suffered back-to-back league defeats at Old Trafford for the first time since the end of the 2001-02 season. Their 1-0 defeat to Everton on December 4 was their first loss to the Toffees at the Theatre of Dreams in 21 years, while another defeat by the same scoreline, three days later, to Newcastle, was their first on home soil against the Magpies since 1972. And a defeat in front of their own fans to West Ham this afternoon would represent three successive home league defeats for the first time since 1978-79. For the sake of United's title challenge, and maybe even Moyes's job, this cannot be allowed to happen.
