Manchester City vs Liverpool: 5 Key Head-to-Head Battles

1. Suarez v Tevez

Liverpool v Manchester City will bring together two footballers who have a LOT in common. Both are world class strikers, from South America; both have exceptional scoring records in the Premier league; and both continue to divide opinion among fans through their controversial actions. Luis Suarez of Liverpool and Carlos Tevez of Manchester City are both undoubtedly talented, but which of the two hitmen will come out on top on Sunday. Luis Suarez is a key player for Uruguay and became a key player for Liverpool following his blockbuster £22.8 million move in January of 2011. He was a big hit straight away, inheriting the hallowed Liverpool no.7 shirt and on the pitch his predatory instinct and sharp movement gave defenders nightmares. He is a gifted footballer and a brilliant striker who will look to put the demons of his opening day display behind him and provide the cutting edge for Liverpool on Sunday. Suarez€™s opposite number on this occasion will be none other than Carlos Tevez. The Argentinian has been €˜Mr. Controversy€™ since he arrived on these shores, but he€™s managed to score a goal here and there along the way. That is of course an understatement, Tevez single-handedly kept West Ham up with his goals in his first season in England, before moving to Manchester United where he scored 34 goals in 2 seasons. He is now in his fourth season with Manchester City, with 57 goals to date, including one last weekend. He will be looking to add to his tally against Liverpool and continue his good form. Verdict: Judging by the two strikers€™ history and recent form, I€™d have to go for Tevez who scored against Southampton while Suarez struggled against West Brom. My money€™s on the Argentinian to come good for Man City on the day and hopefully score.
