Manchester United: 10 Strikers Who Can Succeed Where Falcao Failed

8. Karim Benzema

He's been at Real Madrid for a long time now, and he's proven to be a good goalscorer. You could argue that he's been playing for one of the best teams in the world, surrounded by top players, but that is what Manchester United should be aiming to provide.

Di Maria has already worked with the Frenchman before, and if he's to stay on with the Red Devils, he'll know how to get the best out of Benzema.

He's 27 now so should be roughly at his peak, and if rumours are to be believed and Louis Van Gaal is monitoring him, he could be a shrewd acquisition for United. If he settles in quickly, and he's as good as people say he is, there's no reason to assume he can't aim for 20 or so goals.

Though he doesn't have to match that to improve on Falcao. Double figures at all would be better than Falcao. Five would be better than Falcao.

The asking price is £40 million, and that seems a bit, but United have been splashing the cash recently, so it's not beyond belief that Benzema could become United's second most expensive signing ever.
