Matt Jarvis Joins Norwich For £2.5 Million
Winger had been on loan at Carrow Road since September.
Norwich City have agreed a deal to sign winger Matt Jarvis from West Ham United, reports Teamtalk. The fee is officially undisclosed but is reported to be around £2.5 million and will be finalised on January 2nd when the transfer window re-opens. Jarvis, 29, had been on loan at Carrow Road since September, making seven appearances for the Canaries and contributing two goals, including one in his debut 3-1 drubbing of Bournemouth. Despite West Ham signing Jarvis for a then club-record fee of £10.75 million in 2012, the Hammers have decided to cut their losses and sell him for over £8 million less just three years later. Clearly happy about his move, Jarvis told the club website; Ive really enjoyed my time here so far, so Im delighted to sign on the dotted line. Its nice to get it done before the window opens as the club have shown they really wanted me. I had a great start here and hopefully Ill be back up-and-running soon for the rest of the season. My first game especially was great. To get out in front of the home fans and score in a win was a perfect start which carried on for a while. Unfortunately I then picked up an injury but Im desperate to get back fully-fit, and back playing. To get the deal sorted is really nice and Im looking forward to helping the team as soon as I can. Norwich boss Alex Neill added; Hell give us pace on the other flank which I dont think weve had. Only a few years ago he commanded a transfer fee of over £10million and as a player he has a lot to offer.
