BORO have today completed the signing of wide midfielder Albert Adomah from Bristol City on and undisclosed fee, reports BBC Sport. The 25-year-old, Ghanian international joins the Teessiders on a three year deal; after he passed a medical and agreed personal terms. He trained with the rest of the first team squad for the first time this morning and is included in the Middlesbrough squad for their SkyBet Championship fixture away at Charlton Athletic. Middlesbrough Chief Executive Neil Bausor said:
"We€™re absolutely delighted to have completed the signing of such a talented player who we believe can really excite our fans. "Albert is a Ghanaian international who has hopes of representing his country at next summer€™s World Cup finals. "We hope playing for Middlesbrough can help him achieve that ambition and at the same time he can be an important player for us and help us achieve our ambitions as a club."
Tony Mowbray has been keen to bring additions into a thin squad. Making Adomah only his fourth summer signing after concluding a short term deal for former Southampton full back Frazer Richardson earlier in the week. The Boro boss admitted that he had been a long term admirer of Adomah:
€œAlbert is a creative wide player who can go up and down the right wing and cause teams problems with his speed and his trickery. He can create chances and he can also drop his shoulder and smash it in the net. "He'll be a welcome addition for us. We're looking to strengthen other positions as well and we also need a player who can stick it in the net. "He can add a little bit of excitement, thrust and forward speed to our team. Let's hope he can have a decent time with us."
London-born Albert Adomah started his career with Harrow Borough, before joining League Two outfit Barnet; where he made 112 appearances and returning 19 goals. He then moved to Bristol City, his exciting and fast style of play made him an instant hero with the Robins fans. He has made nine appearances as a full international for Ghana, and was part of the Black Stars team at the African Nations Cup 2013.
