Newcastle Loan Report: Armstrong Makes It Four Goals In Two Games
Newcastle's striking prodigy is making a mockery of League One...
We've seen Newcastle United's younger players sent out on some pointless loan deals in the past - but this finally seems to be the season that the next crop of Magpies stars are set to benefit from their respective spells away from the glitz and glamour of St James' Park and the Barclays Premier League. Four members of the Toon squad are out and about at various clubs across the Football League on loan, plying their trade and learning their craft in the lower divisions of English football. Forward Adam Armstrong has moved temporarily to League One Coventry City, while winger Sammy Ameobi has headed out on loan to Championship side Cardiff City. In addition, versatile left-winger or left-back Shane Ferguson has found himself in London and Englands third tier with League One Millwall, while young goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is enjoying his first real taste of senior football with League Two Crawley Town. No-one can quite be sure what the future holds for this quintet whether or not they will ever be Newcastle first-team regulars remains to be seen but the experience they could gain from each of these respective temporary moves could prove invaluable. Here, WhatCulture.com/NUFC runs you through how each of the four Newcastle United loanees got on in their respective debuts over the weekend
