Newcastle Transfer News: Tim Krul To AC Milan?

Krul Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul has emerged as a shock £12 million summer target for AC Milan, according to the Daily Mirror. The Dutchman is out for the rest of the season after sustaining a shoulder injury during the defeat to Sunderland in the Tyne-Wear derby at the weekend, but that will not deter the Italians, who have already made enquiries into the Newcastle No.1. The 25-year old is contracted at St James' Park until 2017 and Newcastle are understood to be unwilling to sell, but a determined Milan have made him their number one target and will do what it takes to bring him to the San Siro in the summer. The Italians had earlier identified Queens Park Ranger's Julio Cesar as a potential transfer target, but the Brazilian, who played at the San Siro between 2005 and 2012 for city rivals Inter, is demanding £70,000-a-week, something of which is proving to be a major stumbling block in any proposed move. It is therefore Krul who is Milan's priority, as he is eight years younger than the Brazilian and is considered to have huge potential. Milan have Christian Abbiati as their current first choice keeper and Italy international Marco Amelia as back-up, but it is believed Krul would become No.1 at the San Siro - If Newcastle can be persuaded to sell.
