Crystal Palace are demanding a fee in excess of £20 million for winger Yannick Bolasie. However, nobody knows better than Newcastle that if a player wishes to move on, more often than not they get their wish.

Bolasie was outstanding for the Eagles last season, scoring four goals - including a hat-trick against Newcastle’s arch rivals Sunderland - and providing 11 assists for his teammates as Palace secured a 10th placed finish, their highest in the Premier League.

Although Alan Pardew would loath to see Bolasie join his former club, the Congo international would add some much needed width and trickery to a side currently lacking both.

After their impressive finish last season, Pardew’s men are rightly viewed as a genuine threat to Newcastle’s target of reaching the top eight this season. But the Magpies would still be seen as step-up and the opportunity to play alongside international teammate Chancel Mbemba in front of 52,000 fans would surely appeal to the 26-year-old.
