Newcastle Transfers: 5 Replacements For Yohan Cabaye That Pardew Must Consider
3. Mousa Dembele
Another option for Alan Pardew if he is looking to replace Yohan Cabaye is Tottenham star Mousa Dembele. Dembele has had a difficult time of things at White Hart Lane this season, flitting in and out of the squad due to lack of fitness and form. Though the Belgian international has started his side's last four matches, he has only been able to complete a full 90 minutes in half of Spurs's last 10 games. With the summer arrivals of Paulinho and Christian Eriksen, Dembele has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot and Newcastle, Aston Villa and Southampton are all believed to be interested. The 26-year-old was especially marginalised under Andre Villas-Boas and has spoken out over his dissatisfaction with being on the bench previously this season, saying:
I can not be satisfied with it, of course, I just want to play as many games.
Somewhat rejuvenated under Tim Sherwood, it remains to be seen if Newcastle follow through with their interest before the end of the month.
