Newcastle's 2015-16 Season: Our Predictions Ahead Of The Campaign

4. How Will NUFC Fare In The Capital One Cup?

Steve McClaren led Middlesbrough to the League Cup back in 2004 in his first job as a manager - so can he replicate that success during his debut campaign on Tyneside? How far will the Magpies get in this year's Capital One Cup? (And there's also some predictions of who they might be knocked out by...) Chris' Prediction: Quarter-Finals Last season's Quarter-Final defeat - the 4-0 hammering at Tottenham Hotspur - quashed the Magpies' hopes of glory in 2014-15. Unfortunately, the same will happen again as the Toon sail through the first few rounds unscathed against lower-league opposition (for once they'll do well against them), before being felled by one of the Premier League's big boys in the last eight. Ross' Prediction: Third Round NUFC will coast to a 3-1 home win against Burton Albion in the Second Round, but fall to a Crawley Town side who have already knocked West Ham United out. The Magpies will be the Reds' second "Giant Killing" of the competition. Matt's Prediction: Semi-Finals A 6-1 aggregate defeat to Arsenal in the Semi-Final. Simply heart-wrenching for the Toon faithful...
