It's safe to say that this season has been a huge disaster for Newcastle United. After spending £80 million on reinforcements, Steve McClaren's spell on Tyneside was cut short, leaving Rafa Benitez to pick up the pieces at a team that is teetering on the edge of relegation. Make no mistake about it, the team has massively underperformed, but that won't stop the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Daryl Janmaat, Tim Krul, Gigi Wijnaldum and Ayoze Perez being snapped up by potential suitors if the club goes down. However, not everyone will be allowed - or even offered the chance - to leave the club, so many will have to ply their trade in England's second tier. With it being made clear that there wasn't any relegation clause written into the new signings' contracts in January, the club's hierarchy will be left footing a hefty wage bill and will want to bounce back first time to avoid any financial disaster.
